In the mid-nineties, and due to the demand of
the LPG market in the Waterway Paraná-Paraguay,
HORAMAR started the development of LPG river
transportation.
The result was the initiative to build three
vessels of the Fully Press type with all the
features required to operate in the Waterway
even in very low river water level seasons.
Based on its own engineering design, HORAMAR
assigned the building of the barges to Tandanor
Shipyard in Buenos Aires, under the supervision
of RINA Classification Society.
These three barges, unique in their class,
and which operate in the Waterway since 1997,
have a combined tank capacity of 4.500 m3, and
were built following the highest standards of
quality and technology.
The barges operate regularly and have vetting
approvals from REPSOL-YPF, PETROPAR, SHELL and
PETROBRAS.
